Eco technology

Eco Technology: Fantasy or Reality?

Each and every day, technology is becoming more and more advanced, and things you once only dreamed of are fast becoming a reality. However, the price of modernization is high, and the two areas most affected by man’s progress are history and the environment. This is where Eco technology comes in. Proponents of Eco technology say that making people’s lives easier and more convenient doesn’t have to take a toll on Mother Nature.

However, many detractors say that one cannot balance nature and progress. Advancement will always mean destruction to the environment and protecting the environment will just hold back progress. On the other hand, eco technology’s efforts are focused on creating new methods and ways to protect the environment. So is eco technology really possible? Here are a few points to ponder on.
·
One of eco technology’s greatest successes is in the conservation of energy. Researches and studies have been made in an attempt to make solar power a more viable means of electricity. In recent years, most companies in the electronics sector have come up with gadgets and equipment that use less energy and are more efficient at utilizing whatever energy it uses up. This means people are less dependent on traditional power sources like coal, which is bad for the environment.
·
The biggest problem with advancement is waste management. By products of developing industries like chemical waste and smog don’t just up and disappear, they contaminate the air and seas, affecting life’s natural balance. This is why the development of cleaner processes in waste management and manufacturing of products is one of eco technology’s main goals.
·
Eco technology is also responsible for managing eco systems and protecting flora and fauna that’s in danger of extinction. For example, scientists may take certain animals into captivity to allow them time to breed properly and grow in numbers. Many “naturalists” frown at this practice of “playing God”, but as stewards of God’s creations, it is man’s duty to try to protect animal and plant life from extinction. Eco technology makes it possible for plants and animals to rehabilitate outside of their natural habitat should their original homes become compromised due to man’s negligence, climate change and other factors.
·
Of course, all of Eco technology’s efforts will be wasted without proper funding and support from the business sector. It is therefore important that companies and pro-environment organizations develop a relationship that’s mutually beneficial. Business support pro-environment research through funding and marketing support, while research groups provide technology that is not only environment-friendly, but will also minimize costs in production and manufacturing for businesses.

Most importantly, eco technology aims to provide ample education for the average man and woman. After all, pro-green technological advancements are useless if the average citizen does not even know how to distinguish biodegradable from non-biodegradable. Through several programs, proponents of eco technology hope to increase people’s awareness and educate them on the need to protect the environment.
Because of the destruction caused by advancement nowadays, it’s easy to see why people are a bit hesitant to believe that Eco technology will work. The results are not instantaneous; it will take years to repair the damage caused by man’s progress on the environment. However, Earth’s natural beauty is a treasure that must be protected and something that must not be given up just so people can lead comfortable lives.
